Ireland and the Middle East have now made it possible for students from the United Arab Emirates to travel to Ireland without the use of a visa. The change was brought into affect by the minister for justice and equality in Ireland, Charlie Flanagan, to help boost business, tourism and trade between the two countries.
Over the last decade enrolment in British transnational education (TNE) programmes has increased by 17%. Over 700,000 students have enrolled into TNE programmes. Though this shows that British degrees are still highly popular, the change is that most international students are pursuing British degrees outside of the UK, rather than within.
